The Dryer Sheet Baseboard Cleaning Hack You Need to Know

The problem with cleaning baseboards and other vertical surfaces? You have to reach high or stoop low to get them clean, which can be very uncomfortable and even painful if you’re not in the right position. To solve this problem, grab one of your dryer sheets (the fabric kind) and cut it in half lengthwise so that you’re left with two skinny pieces of fabric, each roughly an inch wide. Then, use it as you would a lint roller to clean off any dust that has accumulated on your baseboards without having to bend over!

How to make it

First, take a dryer sheet and ball it up so that it’s about the size of a quarter. Put your thumb and forefinger on the corners of the dryer sheet, then pull back so that the sheet is tight. Now you’re ready to clean! Just go over your baseboards with the dry time sheet until they’re all nice and shiny again. It will pick up any dust or dirt along the way too. It might not be as fast as using a vacuum cleaner, but it’s much better for those who don’t want to use chemicals around their home. I’ve been doing this since I was in college, and I’m telling you – it works like a charm. Plus, my house always smells fresh because of the lemon scent from my freshly-laundered sheets.

How much does it cost?

You’ll need a dryer sheet, a bucket of warm water, and some kind of scrubbing tool like a sponge or dishcloth. Wet the dryer sheet under the sink and scrub the baseboard. Rinse it off with the bucket and wring it out again before moving on to the next section. You may need to use more than one dryer sheet depending on how dirty your baseboards are.

What else can you do with dryer sheets?

Dryer sheets are commonly used for adding a fresh scent to clothes, but they can also be used as a cleaning agent. From polishing hardwood floors, getting rid of musty smells, and even removing stains on laundry, there are many ways you can use dryers sheets in your home. I love using my dryer sheets as baseboard cleaners because they’re inexpensive and don’t create any toxic fumes like chemical cleaners do.

Have any more cleaning tips?

Cleaning your baseboards can be a pain, especially if you have dark or patterned carpets. To make it easier and faster, run a dryer sheet over the baseboard before you vacuum. The static from the dryer sheet will pick up all the dust and dirt, making your job easier!
