How to Quickly and Easily Clean Your Baseboards With a Dryer Sheet

Cleaning baseboards can be a tedious task, but it doesn’t have to be if you use this quick dryer sheet hack. Just rub one dryer sheet on the dirty area and wipe away with another dryer sheet to remove any dust or dirt in seconds! You may need to repeat this step once or twice, but your baseboards will look like new after doing so!

Why It Works

Dryer sheets have many uses, but what if I told you that you can use them to clean your baseboards? All you need is one dryer sheet (plus some warm water). Simply wet the dryer sheet with warm water, then run it along the edge of the baseboard. The dirt will easily wipe off onto the soapy wet dryer sheet. Next, rinse off your board with water and let it air dry. There’s no need for gloves or chemicals! You don’t even need an extension pole. It’s an easy way to get into those hard-to-reach places that are often overlooked when cleaning. And the best part about this hack is that you’ll be able to reuse the same dryer sheet over again until it starts losing its stickiness. So go ahead and throw away any disposable sponges or brushes you were using before because they won’t be needed anymore. One of my favorite things about using this method is how inexpensive it is–you only need one dryer sheet per room!

The Hack

1. Place a dryer sheet at the end of your vacuum hose, then use the vacuum cleaner to suck up all of the dust that has collected on your baseboards.

2 2. Change out the drying sheet every so often if it becomes too dirty. You can also use this hack for the floor by wrapping a dryer sheet around your hand before you start sweeping. Not only does it do an excellent job of picking up all the dirt, but it leaves behind a lovely scent!

Tips For Successful Use of the Hack

Start by folding the dryer sheet in half. Fold it again in half so that you have two quarters of the sheet. Now, fold this in half once more so that you have four quarters of the sheet. Place one quarter on each side of your baseboard. Use two quarters if your baseboard is particularly dirty or long. Now all you need to do is use your dusting brush or vacuum cleaner to clean up! The dryer sheets will attract dirt from both sides of the board. Once you are finished with your boards, just toss them in the trash and replace them with new ones for next time.
