5 Unusual Ways to Use Windows in a Kitchen Remodel

Kitchen windows can do so much more than let in light. Whether you’re giving an old kitchen an update or creating a new kitchen from scratch, creative use of windows can really enhance the look and feel of your space while adding extra functionality to the room as well. In this post, we’ll explore 5 unusual ways to use windows in kitchen remodels that you’re unlikely to see in many kitchens around the country – and you might not be able to live without them once you do!

1) Replace kitchen cabinet doors with windows

Replacing kitchen cabinet doors with windows can create an open and airy feel, which is great for smaller kitchens. It also allows you to put your cookbooks on display and enjoy the view while cooking. A lot of people like this option because it helps them feel more connected to their surroundings and therefore less stressed out when preparing meals. Keep in mind that this isn’t an option for everyone though as it requires removing all of the cabinets from a room, so make sure it’s worth it before making this change!

2) Add a Window Sill

Windows are an excellent way to bring natural light into your kitchen and they also provide a really nice spot for displaying your favorite trinkets. If you’re feeling creative, here are some ways you can use windows in your kitchen *Add Window Seats: Install benches or chairs near the window so that you can sit and enjoy the view. *Add Window Sills: Install these against exterior walls near the window to create storage space for plants or herbs that don’t need much sunlight like thyme or rosemary.

3) Add an Island Window

An island window is the perfect way to maximize light and give your kitchen space an open, inviting feel. It can also be used as a vent. However, you might not have room for one of these windows in your kitchen remodel. A good workaround is to install the window on an outside wall that opens up onto your kitchen space.

4) Add Paned Glass

The most common way to use windows in a kitchen remodel is as an accent, typically hung over the sink or next to the stove. However, paned glass windows can be used almost anywhere you want an open window aesthetic.

5) Upgrade Cabinetry

The cabinets are the most visible and important part of the kitchen. As a result, upgrading your cabinetry is one of the best ways to improve your kitchen. Cabinets have improved considerably over the years, with modern cabinets often being made from superior materials such as stainless steel or granite countertops. Cabinets can be used as storage spaces for items that might otherwise clutter up the counters or floor space like pots, pans, plates and cups.
